What services do you offer for other low brass instruments?
For low brass, a clean and service involves ultrasonic cleaning, polishing of slide tubes, minor dent removal, valve alignment, and replacing waterkey corks. As necessary or upon request, waterkey or valve springs may also be replaced. Depending on the state of the instrument, other general services may be necessary for an additional charge.
Minor valve work may also be necessary. Common problems invlove dents in the valve casing, bent valves, tension from slide tubes, build-up in the vale casing, or occasional issues with valve guides or springs. I do not currently offer replating and honing of valves, but should that be necessary, I can help with sending your instrument out to a former colleague who offers valve jobs.
Additionally, in cases of noisy rotors, I offer rotor bearing tightening. It’s common for rotor bearings to wear out over time, but rather than needing a complete valve job with replating and honing, often loose valves can be drastically improved simply by tightening the front and back bearings… An example of this difference can be found HERE on my Instagram!
Please note that at this time I do not offer full refinishing work on larger brass instruments, but I hope to add these options in the future. Keep and eye on my blog or social media for updates!
